RIF’s 2012 Gift of Reading Gala was an incredible evening, surrounded by friends who share our vision of a literate America where all children have access to books. We honored board members Loretta Barrett, Lynda Johnson Robb, Arthur White, Margaret McNamara Pastor, and Carol B. Sisco for their continued support for RIF and the children we serve. LeVar Burton inspired the crowd as host and keynote speaker and closed the program with a special reading of the children’s book Stars.
The event raised $500,000 which will help enhance the quality and impact of RIF's work nationwide. Thank you for being a part of this special celebration! 
RIF was thrilled to welcome LeVar Burton as the Master of Ceremonies. LeVar Burton served as the host and executive producer of the highly acclaimed PBS children’s television series READING RAINBOW for 25 seasons. This role garnered him a total of 13 Emmy Awards, five NAACP Awards and numerous nominations.
